About the Opportunity
A well-established organisation is looking for an experienced procurement specialist to lead strategic sourcing, supplier oversight, tender governance, and contract management across a varied mix of operational services and projects.
The position provides a chance to work directly with business stakeholders, shape commercial decisions, improve procurement outcomes, and support organisational performance through effective sourcing and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities
- Own procurement activity from start to finish across several spend areas, covering sourcing strategy, spend review, and procurement planning.
- Handle supplier management across the full vendor lifecycle, including sourcing, assessment, onboarding, performance tracking, and ongoing improvement efforts.
- Improve value and reduce cost through strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, market benchmarking, and analysis of market conditions.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and design procurement approaches that balance cost, quality, and operational requirements.
- Run formal sourcing exercises such as RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and tenders, while ensuring strong evaluation methods and governance discipline.
- Lead contract discussions and manage contracts through their lifecycle, with attention to commercial outcomes, risk reduction, and policy compliance.
- Review pricing structures and total cost of ownership to help guide procurement choices.
- Track supplier performance against service levels and KPIs, and address any performance issues early.
- Make sure procurement work follows internal governance standards and accepted industry practices.
Requirements
- A degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, contract management, or tender management.
- Proven ability to run sourcing exercises, negotiate commercially, and manage supplier relationships.
- Working knowledge of procurement governance, tender processes, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with e-tendering tools and procurement platforms would be an advantage.
- Background in service procurement, project-based procurement, facilities procurement, construction, engineering, healthcare, or comparable operational settings is preferred.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing others.
- Comfort with analysis and the ability to interpret commercial and pricing information.
Why This Role
- Chance to lead strategic procurement efforts and contribute to major business decisions.
- Wide exposure to sourcing, contracts, tender handling, and supplier performance management.
- A collaborative, stakeholder-facing role with visibility across the organisation.
- Stable environment with scope for professional development and career growth.
