Job description
Role overview
This role sits within Google’s Partnerships Development organization and focuses on identifying, shaping, and scaling strategic opportunities with external partners across APAC. The position supports the research, Deepmind, and core product areas, helping teams find the right partners, start new relationships, negotiate agreements, and advise on actions that support product goals, including launches of new models. The team works closely with Government Affairs and Public Policy as well as country teams to unlock regional opportunities and strengthen collaboration.
The wider Global Partnerships organization helps Google’s product teams secure the partnerships needed to improve experiences across advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments, and more. This work includes building product-enabling partnerships, supporting go-to-market efforts, and contributing to business growth.
Location and work authorization
Applicants based in Singapore will be prioritized if they already have the legal right to work in Singapore and do not need visa sponsorship from Google. Candidates may indicate a preferred working location from Singapore or Beijing, China.
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 7 years of background in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking within consumer electronics, automotive, OEMs, telecom, e-commerce/retail, apps, advertising, gaming, or technology.
- Proven experience working with senior executives and collaborating across multiple management levels.
- Experience handling agreements or partnership deals.
Preferred qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or operations strategy in the technology sector.
- Experience taking partnerships from negotiation through execution at scale.
- Exposure to Greater China markets.
- Fluency in Chinese to support partner management and partnership work in Greater China.
Responsibilities
- Build deep knowledge of key companies and market trends in Greater China and act as the team’s subject matter expert for the region.
- Find, assess, and rank potential APAC partners, especially in coding and agentic areas, while developing a pipeline that matches Deepmind’s strategic goals.
- Run complex partnership negotiations from start to finish, including commercial terms, usage rights, data requirements, and legal or ethical compliance, and move deals through internal reviews efficiently.
- Develop productive working relationships with internal teams to support smooth agreement execution.
- Follow existing operating practices and help improve them, including keeping the pipeline accurately updated in Salesforce and driving continuous process refinement.
