About the role
This position sits within Google’s Trust & Safety organization, focused on strengthening the safety and integrity of products at scale. The team works across Google services such as Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads to detect abuse, reduce fraud, and protect users and partners. The work is highly cross-functional, involving collaboration with engineers and product managers, and requires a global mindset, quick decision-making, and a strong commitment to user trust.
The Creator Experience team within Trust & Safety is dedicated to making YouTube policy experiences clearer, more consistent, and easier for creators to navigate. The team supports the creator ecosystem by improving policy communication, refining appeal and demonetization processes, accelerating turnaround times, and helping policy launches feel more seamless. It also helps shape advertiser-friendly content rules so they are practical, understandable, and aligned with the realities of the creator economy.
Pay is determined based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. For Ireland, the compensation range is €84,000 to €86,500 annually, plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Convert policy principles into clear enforcement guidance for the video rater workforce.
- Assess controversial and potentially offensive video content to decide whether it meets brand-safety standards.
- Manage escalations quickly and define the right action plan under tight timelines.
- Track emerging trends and unusual patterns relevant to the policy area.
- Improve operational efficiency through automation, workflow simplification, and system optimization.
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of practical experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in data analytics, trust and safety, policy, cybersecurity, or a closely related area.
- Willingness and ability to collaborate across time zones, including occasional off-hours coverage and some weekend on-call work.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience using generative AI to automate policy implementation and related processes.
- Background in content policy, monetization policy, large-scale anti-abuse operations, or abuse mitigation, along with familiarity with technology-sector policy topics such as advertising, free expression, and online safety.
- Ability to use data and technology to solve complex business problems and apply sound judgment during high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to turn complex topics into clear, accessible language.
- Strong investigative thinking, problem-solving ability, business judgment, and evidence of thought leadership or innovation.
