Role Overview
Google's Strategic Negotiation team plays a critical role in securing the infrastructure that supports the company's expansive product and service ecosystem. This position involves leveraging extensive market intelligence along with technical insight to develop solutions that facilitate Google's growth, including managing vendor and partner engagements and ensuring cost-effective contract compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Google's infrastructure interests regionally, collaborating closely with business and technical teams to define strategic initiatives aligned with near-term and future demands.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with vendors by identifying expansion opportunities and tailoring solutions to meet commercial, technical, and timing objectives.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with providers of network infrastructure services and assets, including colocation, submarine cable landings, dark fiber, and network capacity.
- Lead collaborative initiatives involving Google's Legal, Treasury, Policy, and Tax departments to support partnership agreements.
- Maintain effective internal communication and coordination with network deployment teams to track and report progress.
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least six years of experience in negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development, specifically across multiple vendors and types of network infrastructure.
- Proven experience acquiring services or conducting business development with providers focused on colocation, submarine cable landings, dark fiber, and network capacity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong capability to achieve strategic clarity and build consensus in complex regulatory, business, and technical environments.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% as required.
Additional Information
Priority consideration will be given to candidates who currently hold the right to work in Singapore without requiring visa sponsorship from Google. This role is primarily focused on operations in Thailand and Southeast Asia as part of the Global Network Acquisition APAC team, which manages network infrastructure projects connecting Cloud regions, data centers, and submarine cables.
