About the Role

The Senior Manager of the Regional Strategic Management Office (SMOSM) leads the execution and integration of global transformation priorities within the APAC region by developing and managing actionable, measurable regional programs. Operating autonomously, this individual serves as the main link between global program owners, regional leadership, and various functional and divisional teams.

Accountable for the end-to-end design, governance, and performance of regional transformation initiatives, the role ensures business preparedness, alignment across functions, risk management, and timely resolution of issues. Acting as a trusted advisor to the Regional Head of SMO and the Regional President's leadership, the SMOSM shapes strategic conversations, influences decisions, and aligns regional structures with global objectives.

The position involves leading coordination of multiple workstreams, managing senior stakeholders, directing regional transformation governance, and ensuring transparency and rigor in the region’s execution. The SMOSM delivers strategic insights, program oversight, and analytical leadership across the transformation portfolio, directly enhancing the region’s operations and strategic results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate global transformation strategies into practical, region-specific execution plans aligned with market conditions.
  • Contribute regional perspectives and strategic analyses to global steering committees.
  • Maintain consistent strategic messaging among senior regional stakeholders.
  • Lead the regional governance framework, including decision-making processes, KPI tracking, and issue escalation.
  • Define and uphold regional project management standards to ensure uniform, high-quality program delivery.
  • Oversee cross-functional risk and issue management, fostering prompt decisions.
  • Guide multi-workstream regional program rollouts, managing planning, sequencing, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Coordinate complex interdependencies among divisions, functions, and countries.
  • Provide leadership for major initiatives such as operating model shifts, ERP transformations, process harmonization, and capability development.
  • Act as the key senior operational interface for global program leaders and regional executives.
  • Align priorities and resources between the Regional Head of SMO and Regional President, addressing strategic risks.
  • Prepare structured decision documents, insights, and scenario analyses to support executive discussions.
  • Lead program initiation activities including charter development, stakeholder mapping, resource planning, and business readiness evaluations.
  • Conduct onboarding and capability-building programs for regional teams to ensure transformation readiness.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and functional leaders to align organizational structures to transformation demands.
  • Create executive dashboards, health checks, and transformation scorecards.
  • Consolidate regional updates into succinct narratives for global and regional executive reviews.
  • Spearhead communications to foster awareness, alignment, and engagement.
  • Identify and mitigate behavioral, operational, and structural risks to change adoption early.
  • Coordinate region-wide workshops, training, and change initiatives.
  • Ensure country clusters adopt new standards and procedures uniformly.
  • Continuously enhance SMO methodologies, standards, and tools regionally.
  • Introduce transformational best practices in management, risk governance, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Promote consistent excellence across all regional transformation programs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Advanced degrees such as MBA or MSc are highly preferred, especially with focuses on Strategy, Transformation, or Organizational Development.
  • Over eight years’ experience in project management, PMO, consulting, business operations, or transformation support functions.
  • Proven experience working within multinational and matrixed organizational structures.
  • Demonstrated success leading regional or enterprise-wide initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Superior abilities in executive communication and managing senior stakeholders.
  • Capacity to autonomously manage complex projects with minimal oversight.
  • Expertise in project and program management tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel with strong analytical capabilities.

Additional Information

  • International travel may be necessary to support meetings, workshops, or program activities.
