About the Role
Discord supports millions of daily users, many of whom engage in gaming-related activities. The platform is pivotal to the future of gaming by making social interactions around gaming simpler and more enjoyable. We seek a dedicated Strategic Finance Analyst to join our Revenue Finance team. You'll work closely with senior leadership across various departments including Data Science, Product, and Engineering to impact revenue strategy directly.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive long-term revenue forecasts incorporating multiple data sources such as cohort behavior, FX fluctuations, product impacts, and experimentation results.
- Perform deep analysis on critical metrics such as ARPU, retention, platform distribution, and geographic/product performance to generate actionable insights.
- Enhance and automate financial processes and dashboards using tools like Excel, Pigment, and Looker to enable scalable and well-documented workflows.
- Leverage AI tools such as Claude Code and Codex to assist in building financial models, automate reports, and process raw data into preliminary analyses while applying judgment to assess outputs.
- Build strategic partnerships across Product, Partnerships, Engineering, and Go-to-Market teams to evaluate opportunities, validate initiatives, and set targets.
- Collaborate with Accounting and Data Science to reconcile data sources, resolve discrepancies, and develop real-time reporting and forecasting capabilities.
- Identify and address ambiguities in data and process flows, establishing structured, robust practices that endure over time.
- Maintain a strong desire to continuously learn, adapt emerging AI tools, and mentor peers to elevate team performance.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in investment banking, elite consulting, or fast-growing tech FP&A roles with significant financial modeling ownership.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel modeling techniques; familiarity with SQL, FP&A, and data visualization platforms is highly desirable.
- Expertise in consumer subscription business modeling including conversion rates, churn analysis, cohort-level assumptions, and FX forecasting.
- A genuine passion for automating and streamlining workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Hands-on experience with AI agents like Claude Code and Codex and an enthusiastic approach towards their application in finance tasks.
- Ability to synthesize complex analytics into clear, executive-level recommendations.

Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area, including Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, or Sonoma counties. Relocation assistance may be provided.
The base US salary range for this position is between 116000 and 130500 USD per year, excluding equity and benefits. Final individual compensation considers experience, skills, and educational background.
