About the Role

As a Strategic Finance Analyst at Google, you will play a crucial role in guiding financial decisions by providing detailed analysis and modeling for business scenarios. You will work closely with Engineering and Infrastructure leaders to align technology and R&D investments with optimal financial outcomes. Your expertise will be essential in managing Google's complex technology portfolio, including advanced hardware and global infrastructure projects, driving transformational initiatives and developing key performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish strong collaborative relationships across the Technical Infrastructure division to comprehend the strategic, technical, and financial dimensions of various programs.
  • Design and oversee a portfolio strategy to prioritize and manage investments effectively.
  • Analyze and optimize resource allocation including headcount and operational expenses to support top-priority programs.
  • Collaborate with finance teams and business units during annual planning to maintain portfolio strategies through zero-based budgeting and operational planning.
  • Leverage AI technologies to improve and automate portfolio management processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Have a minimum of four years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or related functions, or hold an advanced degree.
  • Demonstrate expertise in full-cycle FP&A tasks including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling within multinational environments.
  • Proficient in programming, specifically SQL.
  • Preferred candidates will have backgrounds in investment banking or portfolio management.
  • Exhibit the ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear financial explanations for senior executive audiences.
  • Show keen attention to detail, capacity to handle multiple high-quality projects simultaneously, and flexibility in ambiguous or evolving situations.
  • Strong leadership qualities with capability to set objectives, drive results, and build lasting relationships across all levels of the organization.

Compensation

The salary range for this position in the United States is $116,000 to $167,000 annually, supplemented by a 15% bonus target, equity incentives, and comprehensive benefits.
