Job description
About SUTD
Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) shifted its strategic focus to AI in January 2025 and now positions itself as the world’s first Design•AI university. It has built a distinct place in the competitive higher-education landscape by treating AI as a collaborative team member rather than only a tool. In this environment, people and AI work together to brainstorm, test ideas, and build prototypes that lead to stronger outcomes. SUTD continues to push boundaries in design and technology and partners closely with industry to create human-centred solutions for real-world challenges.
Role Overview
The Strategic Communications Lead will support the Chief Communications Officer in shaping and delivering high-impact strategic initiatives. This role suits someone who can quickly understand complex topics, translate them into clear and concise communication, and work comfortably with people across many functions. Success in this position requires agility, strong stakeholder management, and a strong record of delivering marketing and communications work effectively in a fast-moving setting.
What You Will Do
You will take ownership of special marketing and communications initiatives from idea stage through completion. The role involves building timelines, monitoring deliverables, and keeping projects aligned with wider business objectives. You will also partner with internal teams such as branding, PR, digital marketing, and content, as well as external vendors, to ensure smooth execution.
In addition, you will help shape and implement marketing campaigns, corporate communications, and brand initiatives, including the use of AI tools where they can improve efficiency. You will make sure all messaging remains consistent with brand standards and keep up with current best practices in communications and marketing strategy.
Another major part of the role is cross-functional coordination. You will work with leadership, internal departments, and external agencies to keep projects moving, share progress and risks with stakeholders, and help different teams stay aligned on SUTD’s marketing priorities.
You will also track key performance indicators for special projects, prepare reports and presentation materials, and use the findings to recommend improvements for future campaigns and initiatives.
