Job description
About the Team
The Enterprise go-to-market group helps major organizations adopt and expand AI across their businesses, including ChatGPT Enterprise, the developer platform, and APIs. The team works with clients in Financial Services, Life Sciences, and Retail to create AI-driven customer experiences, improve operations, and modernize work in regulated and technically complex settings. Business Development is the entry point for this motion, converting technical interest into executive conversations and early signals into company-wide adoption.
About the Role
This position is intended as a launch point for future enterprise sellers at OpenAI and offers strong exposure to enterprise sales, product, and customer strategy. You will build practical capability in discovery, stakeholder mapping, deal development, and executive communication while learning how leading companies introduce AI into their organizations.
The company is seeking professionals with 4-6+ years of experience who want to grow into top-tier enterprise sellers over time. Advancement may include roles such as Account Director or other go-to-market positions, but movement depends on performance and business priorities rather than a set timeline. For the right candidate, this is one of the fastest routes into sales at OpenAI and into a long-term AI go-to-market career.
In this role, you will identify, shape, and move complex enterprise opportunities by converting product engagement, pilots, and inbound interest into qualified, high-confidence opportunities for the Large Enterprise and Strategic Accounts teams. The position is based in Dublin, Ireland, follows a hybrid model with 3 days per week in the office, and includes relocation support for new hires.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Account Directors on account planning, multi-threading, and advancing deals through the pipeline.
- Create and run focused outbound strategies that use industry knowledge, stakeholder mapping, and product signals to gain entry into priority accounts.
- Conduct strong discovery conversations to understand business priorities, map decision-makers, and evaluate enterprise readiness.
- Support pipeline reviews by bringing outbound activity updates, account-level insights, and early competitive indicators.
- Develop and refine AI-powered go-to-market workflows such as GPTs and agents to improve prospecting and qualification at scale.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in enterprise sales or strategic customer-facing work within finance or consulting.
- A history of consistently meeting and exceeding ambitious targets in enterprise or strategic sales environments.
- Experience selling into regulated or complex sectors such as Financial Services, Life Sciences, or Retail.
- Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to build trust with senior C-suite stakeholders and communicate clearly with technical buyers.
- Strong interest in AI and the ability to connect OpenAI products to tangible customer value and business outcomes.
- Comfort with representing new technology, explaining its potential, and helping the market understand what it can do.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguity, move quickly, and operate with a high level of ownership.
