The Strategic Account Management team is seeking an experienced professional to oversee relationships with Square's largest sellers within the Food & Beverage vertical, particularly across the San Francisco and West Coast regions. This position involves managing a portfolio of 50 strategic restaurant clients, identifying opportunities for expansion, and collaborating closely with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet complex business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of 50 strategic Food & Beverage clients on the West Coast.
- Identify and develop revenue opportunities including cross-selling and customized onboarding.
- Serve as the advocate for upmarket sellers to product teams, ensuring their needs shape product development.
- Act as a consultative partner to high-value restaurant clients to help them achieve business objectives.
- Discover technical solutions within Square's ecosystem to solve customer challenges and oversee project delivery with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with Strategic Account Executives on high-value deals.
- Negotiate pricing to expand use cases and retain clients.
- Provide premium customer service with swift issue resolution.
- Contribute insights to operations and program design at scale.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with multiple stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in Account Management with a track record of managing, retaining, and growing client portfolios.
- Consistent overachievement in sales or customer success KPIs.
- Skilled in discovering client needs through authentic engagement.
- Proficient in technical solution frameworks and requirements gathering.
- Experience managing multiple internal projects alongside engineering, product, and finance teams.
- Strong background in contract and pricing negotiations with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of creative and strategic problem-solving in unstructured situations.
- Experience in the restaurant industry or Food & Beverage technology is preferred.
Compensation and Work Environment
Compensation is market-based and varies by geographic location across four zones within the U.S. The ranges include target variable compensation:
- Zone A: $135,200 - $202,800
- Zone B: $125,800 - $188,600
- Zone C: $119,000 - $178,400
- Zone D: $108,200 - $162,200
