Role Overview

The Stores In-Charge for Solar is tasked with overseeing inventory management, storage, material handling, and dispatching of solar project components and equipment. This position demands ensuring the accurate receipt, secure storage, proper issuance, and comprehensive documentation for solar electrical and mechanical items, all while upholding inventory precision and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of stores and warehouses related to solar project materials.
• Maintain precise inventory records covering a variety of items such as solar PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, SCBs/JBs, transformers, switchgear, earthing materials, fasteners, and consumables.
• Implement correct tagging, identification, and storage methodologies for materials.
• Keep track of stock quantities and initiate reorder protocols when inventory drops below thresholds.
• Verify that incoming materials match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices.
• Collaborate with QA/QC teams for inspection and approval of received goods.
• Ensure safe unloading and careful handling of delicate solar devices.
• Record Goods Receipt Note (GRN) accurately in ERP or software systems.
• Distribute materials according to authorized requisitions using FIFO/LIFO methods where relevant.
• Coordinate material dispatch and transport logistics to respective project sites.
• Maintain thorough documentation of stock registers, bin cards, inward/outward material logs, delivery challans, and inventory reports.
• Prepare stock status reports on daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
• Support audit processes and conduct physical stock verifications regularly.
• Maintain clean, safe storage environments in compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols.
• Prevent losses due to damage, theft, or pilferage.
• Liaise with procurement, logistics, QA/QC, project management, and site teams to address material issues and facilitate smooth project execution.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• A graduate degree is advantageous for involvement in expansive projects.
• Between 3 to 8 years of professional experience in stores or warehouse management.
• Prior experience within solar, electrical, EPC, construction, or infrastructure sectors is preferred.
