Job description
Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, release, and tracking of stock used across hospitality, banquet, and restaurant activities. The storekeeper will keep inventory records accurate, make sure materials are available for day-to-day operations, and help reduce waste and losses.
Inventory Management
- Accept incoming deliveries, check them carefully, and confirm they match purchase orders and delivery paperwork.
- Verify that all items meet the company’s quality and specification standards before they are taken into stock.
- Arrange and store goods in the correct locations using proper storage methods.
- Keep inventory data current in the inventory system.
- Track stock levels and flag any shortages, excess stock, or mismatches.
Stock Issuance and Control
- Release products, supplies, food ingredients, beverages, and operational items to departments only against approved requests.
- Keep complete records for every stock movement.
- Apply FIFO and FEFO stock rotation rules consistently.
- Check expiry dates regularly and coordinate the return or disposal of expired stock.
Inventory Audits
- Carry out stock counts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Support scheduled inventory checks and reconciliation activities.
- Review stock differences, identify the cause, and share the results with management.
Warehouse and Storage Management
- Keep all storage areas clean, safe, and well arranged.
- Maintain suitable temperature and storage conditions for food, beverages, and other sensitive goods.
- Follow company standards for hygiene, safety, and health.
Coordination and Reporting
- Work closely with Purchasing, Finance, Kitchen, Banquet Operations, and Restaurant Management on inventory needs.
- Prepare reports on inventory levels, stock usage, and variances.
- Contribute to cost control by managing stock efficiently.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A high school certificate or equivalent is required; inventory or warehouse-related certification is an added advantage.
- At least 2 years of experience in a storekeeper role, ideally within hospitality, hotels, catering, banqueting, or restaurant operations.
- Familiarity with inventory systems and Microsoft Office tools is needed.
- Good understanding of food safety, storage practices, and stock control procedures.
- Strong skills in organization and record maintenance.
- Ability to handle pressure and balance several priorities at once.
- English fluency is essential, including speaking, reading, and writing.
- A valid driving licence is required.
- The candidate must be able to drive company vehicles when needed.
