Role Overview

The Storekeeper will work on-site in Sharjah and handle the daily running of the store. The position covers receiving, offloading, sorting, and placing incoming materials and components into proper storage. It also involves keeping inventory records accurate, protecting stock in suitable storage conditions, preparing and packing items for dispatch, and issuing materials to production and maintenance teams. The role requires close coordination with procurement and logistics to help prevent shortages or delivery delays, along with regular stock checks, use of material-handling equipment when needed, and adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take delivery of incoming goods, unload them safely, and arrange materials and components in the correct locations.
  • Keep inventory records current and accurate so stock movement is properly tracked.
  • Store electrical switchgear items and related materials in appropriate conditions to protect quality.
  • Pack and prepare orders for dispatch with care and accuracy.
  • Issue materials to production and maintenance teams as required.
  • Work with procurement and logistics teams to reduce stock gaps and avoid delays.
  • Monitor stock levels and carry out periodic inventory verification.
  • Operate forklifts or similar handling equipment when required to move heavier items.
  • Maintain safe working practices and keep the store area tidy and well organized.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, or in a similar position in manufacturing or the electrical sector is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control and inventory management practices.
  • Ability to pack, unload, and handle goods safely.
  • Experience with forklift operation or other material-handling equipment is an advantage.
  • Basic computer literacy for inventory documentation and stock systems; ERP or warehouse software knowledge is a plus.
  • Good attention to detail, strong numeracy for stock counting, and the ability to work reliably in a busy environment.
  • Must be able to follow safety procedures and collaborate effectively with production and procurement teams.
