Job description
Role overview
This position is part of the store’s junior management group and involves supporting day-to-day store leadership. The role focuses on lifting customer service standards across the assigned section, assisting in supervising staff, keeping the shop floor operating to company standards, and handling selected management tasks each day as directed by store management.
Customer service
- Deliver a consistently high level of service to shoppers and ensure their experience is handled professionally.
- Resolve customer questions and complaints with the aim of reaching the best practical outcome.
- Make sure sales staff maintain the company’s required standards of personal presentation.
- Understand and use the customer service measurement process, including the observation checklist.
Sales
- Support the store in meeting sales targets and, where possible, pushing beyond them.
- Track team service performance to help improve store revenue.
- Use in-store tools such as the kiosk to ensure customers are shown the full range of products.
- Work with store reports to guide product placement for key selling lines, including Top Sales Report, Wall Sales Report, and Branch Trade Review Report.
Visual merchandising
- Use current visual merchandising methods to draw in customers and encourage purchases.
- Help maintain high standards across the sales floor.
- Keep stock tidy, clean, and ready for display at all times.
Training and development
- Encourage growth and progression among team members within the store.
- Assist with onboarding and training for new employees.
- Support the development of existing staff and ensure relevant assessments are completed.
