Job description
Job Summary
The Store Officer works alongside the Head of Store to keep daily inventory processes running smoothly. The position involves recording transactions promptly in SAP, keeping close watch on consumables and spare parts, and supporting audit and operational compliance. It also contributes to accurate stock records, quarry output support, and efficient movement of materials from production to dispatch.
Key Responsibilities
- Track daily inventory levels for consumables and spare parts and help avoid stock shortages.
- Support the maintenance of at least 30 days’ cover of consumables to help sustain the quarry’s daily production target of 8,000 MT.
- Update bin cards every day and assist with monthly physical stock counts.
- Post goods receipt notes, production data, and issues of consumables and spare parts in SAP within 24 hours.
- Keep stock movement records accurate and ensure reconciliations are properly maintained.
- Help prepare documentation needed for internal and external audit reviews.
- Escalate stock variances or other discrepancies quickly to the Head of Store and support follow-up actions.
- Record daily A.G.O/Diesel issue and consumption details in line with operational reports.
- Assist with logistics planning so materials move on time from operations to dispatch.
- Monitor calibration timelines for flow meters and weighbridges and ensure compliance is maintained.
- Cross-check recorded consumables and finished goods against physical measurements.
- Provide operational data that helps identify major cost drivers.
- Recommend practical improvements to store processes and reporting methods.
Education and Experience
A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline is required. The role calls for 2–3 years of experience in inventory control or store operations, ideally with SAP experience. Familiarity with quarry operations will be considered an added advantage.
