Job description
Role overview
This position supports store operations and customer service by keeping shopping carts available and the front-of-store area orderly. The role is a good entry point for someone interested in retail or customer-facing work.
Key duties
- Gather carts from cart corrals, the parking area, and around the store, then place them in the proper storage location following approved store procedures and completing any required logs.
- Help customers at the registers by handling carry-outs and carry-ins when requested, and confirm proof of purchase by checking receipts when needed.
- Perform routine restroom cleaning and upkeep as directed, including safe handling of chemicals, correct disposal practices, and use of powered equipment with pre-use inspection documentation.
- Follow all health, safety, and emergency rules, including requirements related to hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and blood-borne pathogens.
- Keep the Cart Retrieval Log up to date at the Customer Service Desk.
- Support a clean, safe, and hazard-free workplace by following company policies and operating procedures.
- Use required protective gear, including steel-toe footwear and a reflective vest, especially during cart collection to improve visibility.
- Carry out safety sweeps whenever required.
Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this role is $15.50.
Minimum qualifications
Candidates must be at least 16 years old.
