Position Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Stockperson/Cart Pusher offers an excellent opportunity to hone your skills within the retail sector. This role involves retrieving shopping carts from various locations around the store premises and safely returning them to designated storage areas, all while delivering top-tier customer service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect shopping carts from corrals, the parking lot, and store surroundings following Walmart’s approved procedures and complete the necessary documentation.
- Promptly assist customers at checkout areas by helping with carry-ins and carry-outs and verifying purchase receipts.
- Periodically perform cleaning and maintenance duties in restrooms, handle cleaning chemicals appropriately, follow correct disposal methods, and operate power equipment with proper inspection before use.
- Strictly follow safety protocols including hazardous communication guidelines, lockout/tagout procedures, and management of bloodborne pathogens.
- Maintain accurate cart retrieval logs at the Customer Service Desk.
- Contribute to workplace safety by adhering to company policies, maintaining a clean and hazard-free environment.
- Ensure personal safety by using required protective gear such as steel-toe footwear and high-visibility reflective vests during cart collection tasks.
- Conduct safety inspections as needed.
Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this role is $16.15.
