Stockperson/Cartpusher

Overview

This role as a Stockperson/Cartpusher at Walmart Canada offers an excellent opportunity to build experience in the retail sector. The primary responsibility involves retrieving shopping carts from designated areas around the store including cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeter, and securely returning them to storage. Maintaining high standards of customer service throughout is vital.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect shopping carts efficiently from outside areas and return them safely using approved procedures while maintaining required logs.
• Provide prompt customer assistance at registers by helping with carry outs or carry ins and verifying purchase receipts.
• Occasionally clean and maintain restrooms, safely handling chemicals and disposing of waste according to guidelines; operate power equipment and complete required inspection reports prior to use.
• Follow all safety and emergency protocols, including hazardous materials communication, lockout/tagout procedures and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
• Keep the Cart Retrieval Log up to date at the Customer Service Desk.
• Ensure the workplace remains clean, safe, and free of hazards by adhering strictly to company policies and procedures.
• Use personal protective equipment such as steel toe boots and reflective vests for visibility and safety during cart collection.
• Complete safety sweeps as necessary to maintain a secure environment.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $17.65 per hour.
