Job description
Position summary
This role supports store operations by gathering shopping carts from cart corrals, the parking lot, and around the store, then returning them to a secure storage area. It also involves providing strong customer service and assisting with basic retail support tasks. The position is a good fit for someone interested in retail or customer-facing work.
Key duties
- Collect carts from cart corrals, the parking lot, and the store perimeter, then move them back to the designated storage location following approved procedures and completing required records.
- Respond quickly when registers need support, help customers with carry-outs and carry-ins in a safe manner, and confirm proof of purchase when needed.
- Carry out occasional restroom cleaning and maintenance according to established rules, including safe handling of cleaning chemicals, correct disposal practices, and proper use of power equipment with required pre-use inspection documentation.
- Follow all safety and emergency protocols, including rules for hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogens.
- Keep the Cart Retrieval Log up to date at the Customer Service Desk.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free workplace by following company policies and procedures.
- Use the required protective gear, including steel-toe footwear and a reflective vest during cart collection to improve visibility.
- Perform safety checks/sweeps when required.
Pay
The starting hourly wage for this role is $16.05.
