Position Overview

As a Stockperson/Cartpusher, you play a critical role in maintaining a safe, orderly, and inviting shopping environment for customers. Your primary duties include retrieving shopping carts from designated areas like corrals, parking lots, and store perimeters, then returning them to proper storage locations following approved procedures. This role emphasizes customer interaction, safety, and supports seamless store operations while helping you develop valuable retail, teamwork, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect carts from cart corrals, parking areas, and store perimeter and return them safely to designated spots using approved Walmart procedures, maintaining accurate logs.
• Respond quickly to store and customer requests, assist with carrying items in and out, and verify purchase receipts when required.
• Perform periodic cleaning and upkeep tasks including restroom maintenance, adhering to guidelines for chemical use, disposal practices, and safe operation of equipment. Complete necessary equipment inspections before use.
• Comply with all safety and emergency protocols such as hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen guidelines, ensuring a secure environment for all.
• Utilize personal protective equipment like steel-toed footwear and reflective vests, conduct safety checks as required, and follow company policies to maintain a clean and safe workplace.
• Be flexible in work schedule by being open to shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays to support consistent store operations and customer service quality.

Work Environment Challenges

• Manage overnight shifts effectively to stay energized and focused in a fast-paced setting with high task volumes.
• Handle physically demanding work including standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive stocking, zoning, and organizing tasks consistently to meet store standards.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $17.75 per hour.
