Position Overview

Working as a Stockperson/Cartpusher at Walmart Canada offers an excellent opportunity to build experience within the retail sector. The role involves collecting shopping carts from various store areas including cart corrals, parking lots, and the perimeter, and ensuring they are returned safely to designated storage locations, all while providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect shopping carts from designated locations and return them to storage using Walmart-approved methods, making sure required logs are accurately maintained.
• Promptly respond to requests at registers, assist customers with carrying items in or out, and verify purchase receipts.
• Assist with periodic cleaning and maintenance duties such as restroom upkeep, managing chemicals safely, proper disposal, and operating power equipment, completing inspections before use.
• Follow safety and emergency protocols rigorously, including hazardous material handling, lockout/tagout procedures, and protocols related to bloodborne pathogens.
• Maintain the Cart Retrieval Log at the Customer Service Desk.
• Support a safe, clean, and hazard-free working environment by adhering strictly to company policies and procedures.
• Promote personal and team safety by wearing mandatory personal protective equipment such as steel-toe footwear and high-visibility reflective vests during cart collection.
• Conduct safety sweeps as required to identify and mitigate risks.

Compensation

The position offers a starting hourly wage of $17.75.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be aged 16 or older.
