Position Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you play a vital role in maintaining a secure, orderly, and welcoming environment for shoppers. Your duties involve retrieving shopping carts from parking areas, store perimeters, and cart corrals, returning them to designated storage zones following approved protocols. By engaging positively with customers and emphasizing safety, you help keep store operations efficient while developing retail, teamwork, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect shopping carts from parking lots, cart corrals, and store perimeters, returning them to proper storage using Walmart's approved procedures, and ensuring accurate log completion.
• Quickly respond to requests from cash registers and Customer Service, assisting customers with carrying items and verifying receipts when necessary.
• Perform occasional cleaning and basic maintenance tasks such as restroom cleaning, following guidelines for chemical use, waste disposal, and proper operation of powered equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen procedures to maintain a safe environment for colleagues and customers.
• Use required personal protective equipment like steel-toe shoes and reflective vests, conduct safety checks, and comply with company policies to ensure a hazard-free workplace.
• Demonstrate flexibility by being available for different shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure seamless store functioning.

Challenges Associated with the Role

• Managing a high volume of tasks in a busy, fast-paced environment, including effectively handling overnight shifts by planning to maintain focus and energy.
• Executing physically demanding activities such as extended standing, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Performing repetitive duties including stocking, zoning, and arranging products meticulously to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $18.40 per hour.
