Job description
Role Overview
As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you play a vital role in ensuring a safe, organized, and welcoming shopping environment. Your duties include gathering shopping carts from various locations like cart corrals, parking areas, and store perimeter, and securely returning them to designated spots using approved procedures. Your friendly customer interactions and commitment to safety are essential in supporting smooth store operations while developing valuable skills in retail, teamwork, and customer service.
Key Duties
- Collect shopping carts from cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeter and return them to designated storage areas following Walmart-approved methods. Complete all required logs accurately.
- Respond promptly to customer and store requests, including assisting customers with carry-outs and carry-ins and verifying purchase receipts when necessary.
- Perform occasional cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as restroom upkeep, adhering to guidelines on chemical handling, proper waste disposal, and safe equipment usage, including mandatory equipment inspections before use.
- Adhere to safety and emergency protocols, such as hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen guidelines, to maintain a secure environment for both customers and colleagues.
- Wear required personal protective gear, including steel-toe footwear and reflective vest. Conduct safety sweeps and comply with company policies to maintain a hazard-free workplace.
- Be flexible in work schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate business needs and ensure consistent high service quality.
Challenges of the Role
- Manage high task volumes in a fast-paced, often overnight, environment by planning effectively to stay energized and focused during shifts.
- Handle physically demanding tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs, and performing repetitive duties like stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail.

Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.15.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old.
