Job description
Introduction
Join Traffic Safe NZ Ltd's New Plymouth branch as a STMS Practicing professional, where you will play a crucial role in leading on-road safety operations. This is an opportunity to contribute to our mission: delivering excellent service through skilled crews, prioritized safety, and effective traffic management solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain Traffic Management (TTM) sites compliant with approved plans.
- Oversee and control live traffic, including stop/go signals and layout modifications.
- Supervise on-site personnel, conduct daily toolbox talks, and delegate tasks efficiently.
- Perform site inductions, execute safety inspections, and keep detailed records.
- Promote a proactive culture of safety and ensure adherence to on-site compliance standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of current STMS A/B practicing qualification; training will be provided if necessary.
- Prior experience in Traffic Management with a minimum qualification of TTM Unit Standard 31962.
- Must possess a full New Zealand Class 1 driver's license; Class 2 license is advantageous.
- Ability to lead teams confidently and make informed, risk-aware decisions onsite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Physically fit and prepared to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
