Where you'll work
Job description
Why roadsurfer
At roadsurfer, you can expect a friendly, team-oriented environment with low barriers between teams, plenty of fun, and a strong sense of togetherness. Regular team activities such as sports sessions, barbecues, or after-work drinks at your station are part of the culture.
You also get the chance to swap your workplace with a colleague from another European location and spend up to four weeks per year working from some of the most beautiful places in Europe.
A yearly camper allowance is included so you can experience the #happyroadsurfing lifestyle yourself. In addition, there is a job bike option to help you stay active, plus access to corporate benefits, a Travel Industry Card, and family-and-friends discounts.
The role
As station manager, you take ownership of building and running the Augsburg location together with central specialist teams and your local crew. Your focus is to keep daily operations running smoothly while actively shaping the station’s development.
You work on improving internal processes and adapting existing standards, for example around vehicle handovers and returns, and contribute your own ideas to make operations more efficient.
You stay in regular contact with roadsurfer teams in other countries and help continuously improve processes across the organization.
In your leadership role, you support the team through structured onboarding, clear task planning, and regular feedback to ensure a high level of service quality.
You also take responsibility for hiring and building your team, finding the right people who share enthusiasm for roadsurfer.
Another key part of the job is managing the vehicle fleet at the station, making sure all vehicles remain in excellent condition and coordinating closely with local service partners.
As the product expert for myroadsurfer, abo, spots, and rent, you advise customers and help send them off as happy roadsurfers on their journeys across Europe.
What you should bring
You need a completed apprenticeship, a completed degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent qualification.
Ideally, you already have 2 to 3 years of professional experience, preferably in car rental, tourism, or a related industry. Career changers are also welcome.
Initial experience in people management is an advantage, but an empathetic and supportive leadership style matters most.
You should be strongly service-minded, customer-oriented, and comfortable with open, friendly communication.
A hands-on mindset and the ability to work pragmatically and find solutions in a varied role are important.
Very good German and English skills are required.
A valid Class B driving licence is necessary.
Compensation
The annual gross salary range for this position is between EUR 37,000 and EUR 45,000. The exact placement within the band depends on your skills and experience and is reviewed at least once a year in a feedback discussion.
About roadsurfer
roadsurfer is more than Europe’s largest campervan rental company. In 2021, the company expanded its offering with roadsurfer spots, alongside its existing rent, abo, and sales products, creating a platform where travelers can discover and book unique camping spots. The company is growing quickly and is built around a simple philosophy: rent an RV, begin your adventure, and be happy.
