Job description
Role overview
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company focused on advancing U.S. and allied military capability with modern software, autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking. Its Lattice OS platform brings together large volumes of data into a real-time 3D command-and-control environment. The company aims to deliver cutting-edge defense technology at software speed.
Team background
The Tactical Recon & Strike group builds small aerial drones in Group 1-3 categories, along with the systems needed to test, deploy, and operate them. The team takes products such as Ghost, Anvil, Bolt, and Altius from early concept through fielded operational systems, working closely with specialist partners. The environment brings together software engineers, hardware engineers, roboticists, and front-end mobile developers to create a robotics platform that can be commanded and monitored in real time across multiple interfaces.
What the role involves
In this position, you will guide the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Anduril’s fixed-wing drone portfolio. Partnering with the General Manager and Chief Engineer, you will determine which capabilities should be built and when they should be delivered to satisfy customer mission requirements.
The role is highly cross-functional and centers on coordinating Growth, Engineering, and Manufacturing to keep execution moving. You will lead Integrated Product Teams, oversee IRAD budgets, manage priorities, and help ensure capability delivery stays on schedule. The emphasis is on product direction and trade-offs, while Systems Engineers and TPMs own the detailed implementation.
Success in this job depends on balancing competing priorities, surfacing product-level risks, clearing blockers, and building accountability across the business. You will need to influence across teams without direct authority and communicate clearly from the shop floor to senior leadership. This is a product-focused role that looks at lifecycle, market fit, and scaling from prototype to production rather than traditional project administration.
Core responsibilities
- Shape the product vision and strategy with the General Manager and Chief Engineer.
- Build and rank the product roadmap together with engineering leadership.
- Work with Growth to define market positioning and expansion opportunities for the TRS line.
- Keep the product catalog current as capabilities evolve.
- Act as the key connector across Growth, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
- Coordinate and sequence Integrated Product Team work across functions.
- Drive the Product Maturity Process with support from cross-functional partners.
- Build alignment and ownership across Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, Business Operations, and Quality.
- Move designs from development into production-ready status.
- Ensure delivery timing and outputs meet customer needs.
- Guide product progression from early development through ongoing production.
- Oversee financial planning for the product line and balance market goals with cost structure.
- Spot product risks early and work with technical teams to reduce them.
- Combine schedules and make prioritization calls across multiple initiatives.
- Review proposals, new ideas, and contract opportunities.
- Manage IRAD allocation and tracking for TRS products.
- Coordinate schedules across parallel efforts.
- Support requirements alignment among stakeholders.
- Run priority reviews to make the best use of resources.
- Deliver consolidated product updates to leadership and other stakeholders.
- Serve as the representative for the TRS product line in cross-functional discussions.
- Maintain stakeholder relationships and communication paths.
- Be the central contact for product questions and coordination needs.
- Prepare and share risk mitigation plans.
- Set feature priorities based on customer needs and strategic goals.
- Direct functional IPTs and remove blockers to keep progress on track.
- Lead weekly IPT Leads meetings and bi-weekly Product Stakeholder meetings.
- Make product-level trade-off decisions while keeping a strategic view of capability timing.
Required qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in product management, program management, or a similar role within aerospace or defense.
- Proven experience managing complex hardware products across the full lifecycle with multiple disciplines involved.
- Strong grasp of engineering development workflows and manufacturing operations.
- Experience working with DoD contracts and government customers.
- Ability to influence decisions and drive outcomes across teams without direct reporting authority.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate between technical and business audiences.
- Experience handling budgets and financial planning for product lines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
Preferred qualifications
- Background with unmanned aerial systems or autonomous platforms.
- Experience in manufacturing process development or ramping production.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methods and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Smartsheet.
- MBA or an advanced technical degree.
- Experience in fast-moving, high-growth technology companies.
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing, composites, or advanced materials.
Compensation and benefits
The estimated base pay for this role is USD 191,000 to USD 253,000 per year. The offer may vary depending on experience, education, training, critical skills, and business needs. Most full-time offers also include competitive equity grants as part of total compensation. Full-time employees receive a strong benefits package that is described as comprehensive and offered at little to no cost to employees.
