Role Overview
Elm Green Nursing Home, located in peaceful surroundings in Castleknock, is a purpose-built care home within the Trinity Care Group, part of the international DomusVi Group. The organisation focuses on delivering high-quality care across private residential, convalescent, and rehabilitative services in multiple locations. They are looking for a caring and committed Registered General Nurse (RGN) to support elderly residents.
What the Role Requires
- Clear communication and the ability to work well with others.
- A real interest in supporting older people.
- Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (previously An Bord Altranais).
- A cooperative, team-first attitude.
- Completion of first-level nurse qualification.
Preferred Background
- Prior experience with older adults or in similar care environments.
- Familiarity with Health Information and Quality Authority standards.
- Any previous experience in a supervisory capacity.
Key Duties
Resident Care
- Provide nursing support that is tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Work with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to create and update personalised care plans.
- Keep a close watch on resident wellbeing and escalate concerns when needed.
- Give medications safely and in accordance with clinical best practice and regulations.
- Ensure clinical documentation is complete, current, and accurate.
Communication and Team Coordination
- Develop positive working relationships with residents, relatives, and the wider care team.
- Contribute in meetings and help drive ongoing service improvement.
- Offer support and direction to teammates when necessary.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Help maintain a secure environment for both residents and staff.
- Follow health and safety rules, infection prevention practices, and emergency procedures.
- Report incidents, risks, and concerns without delay.
General Expectations
- Work in line with professional and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Protect confidentiality consistently.
- Contribute to the efficient daily running of the nursing home.
