Staff Nurse, Cardiovascular Laboratory (CV Lab)

Job Overview

Mater Misericordiae University Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse to join its Cardio-Vascular Laboratory (CV Lab) team in Dublin. The role sits within a highly skilled nursing group committed to delivering a consistently high standard of patient care for people attending the hospital for cardiology investigations and procedures.

Role Purpose

This position is central to assessing patients and supporting their care before, during, and after CV Lab procedures. The environment offers strong scope to build clinical nursing expertise while working with a multidisciplinary team.

Clinical Exposure

The CV Lab manages a wide range of cardiac interventions, including Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), angiography, Trans-Catheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), heart ablations, and pacemaker or internal cardiac defibrillator insertion. The post also provides experience in recovery, lab-based care, and participation in an on-call rota.

Learning and Team Environment

The team includes a staff development facilitator to support ongoing learning and professional growth, with the aim of improving outcomes for patients. This is also a period of expansion for the service, with a new Cath Lab recovery area and CCU in development.
