Role Overview
This is an opportunity for an experienced, committed, organised, and motivated Staff Nurse to join St. Aidan's Services. The role is based within residential and respite services and is central to supporting individuals to live meaningful, fulfilled lives as active members of their community.
Key Duties
- Work alongside the Residential Manager / Person in Charge to help run the respite or residential service smoothly and effectively.
- Provide high-quality nursing care that is tailored to each person’s individual needs.
- Use a person-centred approach in day-to-day support, keeping personal preferences, goals, and choices at the forefront.
- Promote a human rights-based approach and encourage active participation in decisions affecting care and support.
- Ensure every person is treated with dignity and respect at all times.
- Help identify opportunities for community participation, new interests, and meaningful engagement.
- Support the overall health, wellbeing, and quality of life of the people being supported.
- Assist individuals in building skills, independence, and confidence.
Qualifications and Experience
- Active registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ireland as RNID, RPN, or RGN.
- Relevant post-qualification experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Willingness and availability to work across a seven-day schedule, including day shifts, night shifts, and weekends.
- A full driving licence and readiness to operate company vehicles.

- Strong people skills, with clear communication and solid organisational ability.
- Capability in maintaining records and preparing reports.
- Ability to follow and implement organisational policies and procedures.
- Flexible attitude toward changing service needs.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Competence using computers.
