Job description
Role overview
The Hospital at Home service in Fife supports older and frail patients, mainly those above 65 years, by delivering acute-level care in their own homes. The aim is to avoid unnecessary hospital admission or to support earlier discharge after an admission. This gives people the chance to recover from illness in a familiar setting without needing to stay in hospital.
This is a great opportunity for a clinician who is interested in acute care delivered in the community to join a long-established Hospital at Home team in Cupar.
Main duties
The successful applicant will be expected to provide safe, high-quality acute medical care in patients’ homes and work independently in a service that is continuing to develop. The role also requires delivering routine clinical interventions, responding promptly to urgent care needs, and supporting the wider team as required.
Skills and experience needed
You must be a registered nurse with relevant experience and the confidence to work on your own. The role calls for practical clinical competence, including venepuncture, ECGs, IV additives, and cannulation. Strong communication skills and a flexible approach to work are essential.
Working pattern
The post requires flexibility across a 7-day rota, with shifts scheduled between 08:00 and 22:00. The appointed candidate will be based at Adamson Hospital in Cupar, though working across teams to meet service demands is expected.
Additional information
For an informal discussion, please contact Carol Galloway, Team Leader H@H East, on 01334 651309 or 01334 651329.

Pre-employment checks and eligibility
Appointment is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme before starting. Successful candidates must also have the correct legal right to work in the United Kingdom, and this will be checked as part of pre-employment verification. Candidates should confirm they already hold the required permission to work in the UK, or that the role can be sponsored, before submitting an application.
Equality and support
The organisation offers flexible working and family-friendly policies. Reasonable adjustments are available for disabled applicants, as well as for candidates with long-term conditions or neurodivergence. The workforce policy is committed to equality, diversity, and fair treatment for all applicants.
