Role overview
Ribnitz-Damgarten is a growing medium-sized town in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, located about 25 kilometers east of Rostock. The city offers good education options, strong transport connections, access to the Bodden, and proximity to the Baltic Sea. With its regional growth potential, the municipality is looking for a Stadtbauhofarbeiter/in (m/w/d) to join the city works department as soon as possible.
Employment terms
The position is permanent and based on full-time employment in the public sector. The application deadline is 26 July 2026. The role is graded at EG 5 TVöD-VKA, provided the collective agreement conditions are met.

Key tasks
- Maintain and care for roads, cycle paths, and the surrounding related facilities
- Carry out green space and tree care
- Keep road traffic facilities in good working order
- Perform winter service duties
- Complete construction and maintenance work on structures
- Create and maintain green areas and roadside vegetation
- Install and service traffic signs, traffic devices, and traffic safety systems
- Operate, drive, and maintain vehicles and technical equipment
- Carry out cleaning tasks
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as a road maintenance worker, or
- A completed three-year vocational qualification in a related field such as construction, agriculture, or forestry
- At least a Class B driving licence
- Class CE and T driving licences are an advantage
- Solid specialist knowledge in landscape gardening and construction work
- Strong manual skills
- At least two years of relevant professional experience is desirable
- Independent working style and a strong sense of personal responsibility
- Resilience, flexibility, and careful working practices
- Strong ability to work in a team
