Role overview

This position is focused on close-protection and executive security for key individuals, family members, and VIPs. The work involves safeguarding principals in varied settings such as travel by road, rail, air, or water, as well as at residences, offices, functions, and other engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver close-range personal security to the protected persons and ensure safety during movement and at static locations.
• Set up and manage protective formations such as ring teams, isolation cordons, sterile zones, surveillance coverage, and access control.
• Build and run an effective protection and security management framework for the assigned subjects.
• Maintain full-body coverage for subjects while they are in transit or outside residences and offices.
• Provide continuous protection through trained security personnel and coordinate round-the-clock coverage.
• Prepare, direct, and implement complete security plans for every subject under responsibility.
• Carry out anti-sabotage inspections of the subject’s vehicle before any movement or visit.
• Study the area for vulnerabilities and assess risks using inputs from law-and-order agencies, threat intelligence, competitor activity, political sensitivity, national concerns, and threat patterns.
• Execute contingency and crisis procedures and keep protection measures effective under changing conditions.
• Plan and deliver advanced escort protection, including team formations, vehicle movement protocols, site surveys, advance checks, and route reconnaissance.
• Support safe evacuation planning and response when required.
• Analyze travel and location risks to give a clear picture of the environment before movement or events.
• Ensure security procedures and guidelines are followed consistently and that protective readiness is maintained.
• Coordinate walkabout drills, convoy drills, special security arrangements, communication drills for routine and emergency situations, team rotation, and team deployment.
• Train and evaluate team members as part of ongoing security readiness.
• Improve internal processes and use modern security technology, including vehicle tracking systems and similar tools.

Education requirements

A graduate degree in any discipline is required. Training in VIP protection from RGSS, SPG, NSG, or Defence Services is also required. Additional qualifications such as a commando course, a postgraduate degree in any discipline, or legal knowledge in criminal, industrial relations, and labour law are preferred.

Experience requirements

The role calls for 5 years of experience in RGSS, including at least 2 years in EPG/A1 Special Group personal protection. Experience of 5 to 10 years with SPG, NSG, or Armed Forces and Para Military Forces in special group protection is preferred.
