Job description

Role overview

REMAYA designs, delivers, and operates military-grade shooting ranges and live-fire training environments for defence and security users. The organisation supports mission readiness and survivability by working with governments, global organisations, and corporate clients across different regions.

This role is for a Senior Specialist in Air Trials, responsible for helping prepare, coordinate, and assess the safety of flight tests at the test range. The position reports to the Air Trial SME and plays an important part in making sure flight test activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Gather, combine, and review technical and operational information needed for flight test preparation, while maintaining accuracy and following internal rules and customer documents.
  • Assist in organising, planning, and coordinating flight tests involving aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and missile-related systems.
  • Develop Test Risk Assessments with customers and internal teams, using structured risk methods such as identifying hazards, classifying them, deciding controls, and rating the overall risk.
  • Partner with the Scheduler to organise test activities in the most efficient way possible.
  • Work alongside the Test Safety Manager to maintain safety compliance and present test plans and safety reviews to the Test Safety Board.
  • Coordinate with the Range Controlling Officer on NOTAM needs and help with permits related to UAV and aircraft movements.
  • Support daily operations during test campaigns and help improve how tests are prepared and how safety is managed over time.
  • Follow environmentally responsible practices and take the authority to halt work if safety or environmental concerns are identified.
  • Escalate environmental and QHSE incidents to the QHSE Manager and the appropriate authorities according to procedure.

Experience and qualifications

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a similar discipline.

Applicants should have at least 7 years of experience in aerospace, flight testing, systems engineering, or safety engineering.

Hands-on exposure through employment, internships, or academic projects in flight testing, UAV operations, or safety analysis will be considered an advantage.

Strong analytical thinking, planning, and communication abilities are important, along with the capacity to work well with many stakeholders.

A clear commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and environmentally responsible working methods is also expected.

Additional information

This is an on-site full-time position in Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.

The role involves responsibility for safety management, environmental awareness, and compliance with QHSE procedures. The selected candidate must be willing to stop work when unsafe conditions or environmental risks are present.
