Job description

About the Team

Tinder’s Business Analytics function acts as the company’s central analytics partner, bringing together marketing, product, finance, and experimentation data to build a unified view of business health. The team’s goal is to convert scattered data signals into clear, practical stories that explain what is happening across the business and why.

The group is organized into three main areas:

  • Insights & Performance (Regional Analysts): Focus on regional performance analysis and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Measurement & Experimentation (Data Scientists): Deliver advanced analytics, causal measurement, and guidance on experimentation design and interpretation.
  • Strategy & Operations: Own reporting systems, metric standards, and repeatable analytics processes.

The company is hiring a Senior Regional Business Analyst to lead performance analysis for a region and act as a trusted strategic partner to regional and cross-functional teams.

Role Overview

In this position, you will own the regional business narrative end to end, from acquisition through engagement, retention, and revenue. You will spot opportunities and risks early, use data to shape business direction, and help align Marketing, Product, and Finance on the factors driving performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main analytics contact for a region and own the full-funnel performance story.
  • Identify emerging risks and growth opportunities, then turn findings into practical recommendations for business strategy.
  • Bring Marketing, Product, and Finance stakeholders into alignment on the key drivers behind performance.
  • Independently run deep-dive investigations into sharp performance shifts, unclear trends, or new opportunities.
  • Combine inputs from marketing, product updates, experiment outcomes, and user behavior to uncover root causes.
  • Create analytical frameworks for new or poorly defined problem areas.
  • Turn complex analysis into executive-ready narratives for leadership reviews such as QMO, WBR, and APM.
  • Present insights in a way that highlights business impact, trade-offs, and recommended next steps.
  • Strengthen decision-making through structured communication and compelling storytelling.
  • Work closely with regional marketing leaders, product teams, finance, and data science to influence priorities and decisions.
  • Act as a bridge between Business Analytics and partner teams, ensuring clarity on performance drivers.
  • Escalate advanced analytical questions and collaborate with Data Scientists on modeling and experimentation.
  • Help define shared standards for funnel analysis, performance reporting, and investigative methods.
  • Mentor junior analysts and help improve the overall quality and consistency of analysis across the team.
  • Spot weaknesses in current reporting or analytical workflows and improve them proactively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or equivalent experience in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a similar field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis.
  • Strong command of SQL for working with large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with visualization and BI tools such as Tableau, Mode, or Databricks.
  • Solid understanding of funnel analysis, cohort analysis, and behavioral analytics.
  • Ability to connect metrics, spot relationships, and convert findings into clear data-driven stories.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to link insights to strategy and outcomes.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and shaping decisions through analytics.
  • Understanding of how marketing, product, and revenue dynamics interact.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leaders.
  • Ability to simplify complex analysis into practical, actionable recommendations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional work and influence without formal authority.
  • Strong collaboration skills across Marketing, Product, Finance, and Data Science.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with a high degree of ambiguity.
