Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is being shared on behalf of a partner organization, which will handle all applications and subsequent hiring steps. The role is based in the United States.
The position blends program leadership, scientific strategy, and operational delivery inside a fast-moving biotech setting. It acts as the main coordination hub for critical therapeutic programs, turning input from clinical, regulatory, translational, and CMC stakeholders into practical decisions for senior leaders. The successful candidate will work as a strategic advisor to program owners, helping guide choices that affect program direction, speed, and overall outcomes. This is a high-ownership role that combines COO-style program stewardship with strong analytical and communication responsibilities, requiring comfort with both big-picture planning and detailed follow-through. The environment is highly dynamic, innovation-led, cross-functional, and closely connected to executive and board-level discussions.
Key accountabilities
- Lead strategy and execution for a priority therapeutic program, keeping all functional teams aligned from planning through delivery.
- Bring together scientific, clinical, regulatory, and operational inputs into concise, decision-ready guidance for leadership.
- Partner with program leaders to foresee risks, key inflection points, and possible scenario outcomes.
- Coordinate work across clinical, translational, regulatory, CMC, and external partners such as CROs.
- Maintain program trackers, dashboards, and status reporting so milestones, ownership, and progress remain visible and accountable.
- Develop polished executive materials, including board presentations, investor updates, and decision memos.
- Spot operational bottlenecks and help clear them so interdependent workstreams can move efficiently.
- Capture and share lessons learned, benchmarks, and reusable program insights to strengthen organizational learning.
- Use AI and digital productivity tools to streamline workflows, improve analysis, and speed up decision-making.
Requirements
- Experience in biotech, pharma, life sciences program management, strategy, consulting, or operations.
- Proven work across cross-functional drug development or similarly complex technical environments.
- Ability to convert dense scientific and operational information into clear strategic recommendations.
- Strong presentation and communication skills for senior executives and other high-level stakeholders.
- Analytical strength with the ability to model scenarios and support data-informed decisions.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity, with a strong bias toward action and execution.
- Exposure to clinical, regulatory, translational, and CMC collaborations is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI and digital tools used for productivity and decision support.
- Strong planning and prioritization skills for managing several fast-moving workstreams at once.
- High emotional intelligence, humility, and the ability to influence without formal authority.
Benefits and additional information
- Competitive pay package appropriate for a senior leadership position.
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits with strong employer contribution.
- 401(k) retirement savings plan with company matching.
- Flexible paid time off to support work-life balance.
- Exposure to advanced drug discovery efforts and clinical-stage innovation.
- High-impact scope with direct influence on therapeutic strategy and execution.
- Mission-driven, collaborative environment focused on scientific and clinical progress.
- Opportunities to grow within biotech strategy and operations leadership.
