Job description
Overview
The Sr. Oil Spill Responder is integral to maintaining high readiness standards for oil spill response at the operational base. The role involves supporting the Operations Supervisor with daily operational activities, including overseeing contractors, ensuring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance, and collaborating effectively with internal QatarEnergy departments and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will lead prompt and efficient responses to hydrocarbon spill incidents within Qatar or other assigned locations. Spill response activities must adhere to international industry standards and comply with national regulations.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in oil spill response organizations or within offshore/marine oil and gas sectors.
- Proficient English language skills in both written and spoken forms (minimum Qatar Petroleum English Level 4).
- Comprehensive knowledge of oil spill response methods and strategies.
- Must possess a valid certificate in lifting and slinging operations.
- Must hold an active forklift operator's license.
Educational and Certification Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical, Marine, or Environmental disciplines.
- Certification of IMO Level 2 training.
- Commercial boat operating license is mandatory.
