Role overview

This position oversees the everyday running of a bar and lounge operation, including shift supervision, team coordination, guest service, and control of liquor stock. The role also supports lounge promotion, menu development, standards maintenance, and floor coverage during busy periods. A key part of the job is keeping guest and associate satisfaction high while staying within the operating budget and meeting all legal requirements.

What you will do

  • Lead day-to-day bar and lounge shift operations and supervise the team.
  • Support lounge marketing, menu planning, and promotional activity.
  • Maintain service, sanitation, food handling, and operational standards.
  • Assist servers on the floor when business volume increases.
  • Manage liquor inventory, stock controls, and related procedures.
  • Track budget, controllable expenses, operating statements, and payroll reports as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to beverage policies, liquor rules, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Plan and carry out staff training where capability gaps are identified.
  • Help other food and beverage outlets when operational support is needed.

Candidate profile

The role calls for someone with strong hospitality leadership experience and a solid understanding of beverage operations, inventory control, staff supervision, and guest service. Operations and compliance

  • Roll out approved beverage policies and procedures across the property.
  • Operate in line with all liquor and beverage laws in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Understand and manage beverage controls such as days on hand, perpetual inventory, bar pars, portion control, cost control, beverage potential, sales mix analysis, issue and returns, food standards, and period-end inventory.
  • Monitor liquor control policies and procedures closely.
  • Attend pre-convention and post-convention meetings when required to understand group needs.
  • Maintain control of inventories in line with budget and business volumes.
  • Work toward departmental financial targets and budgeted goals.
  • Assist in developing menus and promotions when needed.

Team leadership

  • Train staff on liquor control standards and procedures.
  • Adjust staffing levels to support service quality, business needs, and financial goals.
  • Make sure associates understand expectations, limits, and operating parameters.
  • Share important event details with the bar and lounge team.

Guest experience

  • Deliver high-quality service to guests at all times.
  • Seek guest feedback on product quality and service performance.
  • Handle guest issues and complaints in a timely and effective way.
  • Enable team members to provide excellent service consistently.
  • Keep guest satisfaction central in team discussions and improvement efforts.
  • Give individual feedback to improve service delivery.
  • Review comment cards and satisfaction results with the team.

Human resource activities

  • Support orientation and onboarding so new employees can be trained to perform successfully.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of corrective action plans when needed.
