About the Role
St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School in Kadayirippu, Kerala, invites applications for the position of Sports Arena Coordinator to oversee the evening operations of the newly launched Peterian Sports Arena, a sophisticated indoor facility featuring courts for Basketball, Volleyball, and Pickleball.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all evening activities within the indoor sports arena.
- Organize and supervise the usage of Basketball, Volleyball, and Pickleball courts.
- Create and regulate court schedules, including bookings and practice sessions.
- Coordinate with coaches, trainers, students, staff, and other authorized participants.
- Ensure the correct and safe use of sports equipment.
- Monitor the condition of courts, equipment, and overall facilities.
- Maintain comprehensive records of attendance, bookings, and court usage.
- Enforce discipline and ensure compliance with arena rules and safety protocols.
- Manage opening and closing procedures of the sports arena during assigned shifts.
- Report any equipment damage or maintenance needs to the administrative team.
- Support the’organisation of sports training, tournaments, and related activities.
- Liaise with external coaches, teams, or groups utilizing the arena when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper order of the sports facilities post-session.
- Address basic inquiries from students, parents, staff, and other users.
- Respond promptly to minor incidents and escalate emergencies appropriately.
- Assist the school in promoting and developing regular sports activities and programs.
- Perform additional duties related to sports facility management as assigned by management.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a Graduate or Diploma in Physical Education, Sports Management, Sports Science, or allied disciplines is preferred.
- Preference for candidates with experience in sports facility management, coaching, sports academy leadership, or sports administration.
- Good understanding of at least one sport among Basketball, Volleyball, or Pickleball; proficiency in multiple sports is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to professionally interact with students, parents, coaches, and visitors.
- Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
- Reliable, punctual, and physically fit to manage the role effectively.
- Capable of independently managing the sports arena’s operations during evening hours.
- Basic computer skills to maintain schedules, records, and bookings.
- First Aid or CPR certification is a desirable additional qualification.
Experience
Preferred candidates will have between 2 to 5 years in sports coaching, sports academy management, or sports facility coordination roles. However, fresh graduates with solid sports knowledge and outstanding communication and coordination skills may also qualify.
Working Hours
The position primarily covers evening shifts and may include some weekends or holidays, aligning with the arena’s activity schedule.
