About the role
American Express Global Business Travel is looking for a Lead Travel Consultant to support a portfolio of high-profile VIP travelers, including senior executives and well-known names from the entertainment world. This position sits in a collaborative, inclusive environment where ideas are valued and travel is viewed as a way to create positive impact.
What you will do
- Plan and book corporate travel for individual and group business travelers.
- Research travel choices, compare options, and proactively identify opportunities to add suitable services.
- Manage domestic and international itineraries across air, road, rail, and hotel bookings, including more complex travel arrangements.
- Work within a Global Distribution System (GDS).
- Follow client travel policies, supplier rules, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Handle calls professionally, apply positive phone service practices, and respond to special requests.
- Protect the business against fraudulent after-hours booking attempts by following security procedures.
- Work with teammates to coach others, share feedback, and raise service quality.
Candidate profile
The employer is seeking someone who brings strong client-service instincts, can anticipate needs before they are voiced, and has hands-on experience with VIP corporate travel. Clear written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail, discretion with personal traveler data, and the ability to solve problems independently or with suppliers are important. A cooperative attitude and willingness to share feedback are also valued.
Working pattern
This is a fully remote position based in New South Wales, Australia. The working week can be any 5 days, and weekends may be included. Shifts run between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
