Specialist, Transport Management System (TMS)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Skilled Specialist to support the migration and enhancement of our Transport Management System (TMS) at FairPrice Group Supply Chain, based in Singapore's West Region. This role requires involvement in software transitions, technical operations, and cross-team collaboration to ensure seamless supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and technical validation of new microservices along with a forthcoming SaaS delivery package, ensuring it accommodates specific logistical needs such as store delivery schedules and loading dock limitations.
• Extract and clean data from the legacy TMS to prepare for seamless migration into a cloud-based database system.
• Develop and maintain updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical guides aligning with the shift from in-house development to vendor-driven service models.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for operational reporting, diagnosing delivery inconsistencies, and auditing between the TMS and other supply chain applications.
• Provide frontline technical troubleshooting support for transport planners and operations teams to resolve system errors or data issues rapidly.
• Collaborate tightly with the TMS team to synchronize software upgrade activities with on-ground operational realities.
• Act as liaison to outsourced vendors and SaaS providers during technical communication and system rollout phases.
• Participate fully in software development lifecycle stages including planning, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks to ensure dependable software updates.
• Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new system features.
• Monitor system performance post-deployment and address operational issues swiftly.
• Stay current on new technical tools, innovations, and industry best practices to enhance the platform.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 2 to 4 years of practical experience in logistics technology, transport planning systems, or supply chain data analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying complex data sets and supporting system migration tasks.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing, especially related to SaaS and microservices architectures.
• Experience working with Transport Management Systems such as Manhattan, Blue Yonder, Oracle, or bespoke solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
• Proactive mindset with strong readiness to engage hands-on during key transformation phases.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with substantial data throughput.
• Demonstrated experience with full-stack application development and comprehensive knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
• Excellent problem-solving aptitude with keen attention to detail and ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Preferred but Not Essential

• Knowledge of route optimization, delivery logistics systems, or transport management solutions.
• Familiarity with data handling technologies such as databases, message queues, cache mechanisms, and analytics tools.
• Experience on cloud platforms, notably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Usage of monitoring and observability software like Datadog or Grafana.
• Understanding scalability, system performance tuning, and reliability engineering.
• Hands-on with continuous integration/deployment processes and automated testing suites.
