Job Overview

This role involves overseeing the complete recruitment lifecycle for Financial Advisers within Liberty Advisory Partners (LAP), including hiring, onboarding, and contracting. The Specialist will guide strategic talent acquisition efforts by utilizing market knowledge and industry insights to secure top talent.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and recruit both newcomers and experienced Financial Advisers.
• Conduct background and regulatory checks (including DOFA, MIE), ensuring compliance requirements are met.
• Partner with Branch Managers and Franchise Principals to align workforce planning with organizational goals.
• Organize and lead initial candidate selection interviews.
• Escalate adverse background results, such as debt issues, for appropriate approval.
• Support retention by fostering positive relationships with hired advisers.
• Manage LawTrust registrations for new Financial Advisers.
• Conduct competency-based interviews in collaboration with management.
• Utilize and provide feedback on recruitment technologies and systems to enhance hiring processes.
• Meet set quarterly and annual hiring targets.
• Register successful hires for induction and orientation programs.
• Develop and maintain a talent pipeline for Financial Adviser positions.
• Handle the full contracting process, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to data management policies in line with the POPI Act for talent acquisition data.
• Act as intermediary between advisers and branch leadership as necessary.
• Participate in career presentations with management to attract potential candidates.
• Maintain confidentiality in all recruitment discussions.
• Compile and maintain data on adviser acquisition and market trends to inform recruitment strategies.
• Complete mandatory staff compliance training within required timeframes.
• Follow risk and governance frameworks to mitigate recruitment risks.
• Choose and optimize sourcing channels based on organizational talent acquisition goals.
• Implement sourcing strategies to build applicant pipelines effectively.
• Stay informed on trends and regulatory changes affecting Financial Advisers.
• Manage stakeholder relationships including managers, regional heads, franchise principals, and candidates.
• Promote IAM's value proposition and represent the organization at industry events and conferences.
• Act as a brand ambassador for IAM and Standard Bank Group (SBG) in recruitment and employer branding initiatives.
• Provide expertise and advice to internal stakeholders regarding market trends and hiring processes.
• Report on recruitment initiatives and recommend improvements for effective hiring execution.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Talent Acquisition value chain to support internal stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• First degree in Human Resources or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of work experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or financial services distribution.
• Background in recruiting sales professionals or financial advisers is highly desirable.
