Role overview
This position supports the Human Resources function at Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The role is focused on helping managers and team leaders handle HR-related matters, maintaining employee records, supporting hiring processes, and ensuring day-to-day HR administration runs smoothly in line with company standards.
Key responsibilities
The specialist will assist management with resolving employee relations concerns, support staff with internal and external transfer requests, and guide managers and supervisors through hiring-related processes and issues. The role also includes coordinating drug testing, reference checks, background screening, motor vehicle record checks, and social security number verification where applicable.
In addition, the role involves maintaining applicant flow logs, drug testing records, onboarding documentation, and transfer requests; creating and updating new hire and personnel files; and entering employee information into HR systems. The incumbent will help with new employee orientation, monitor hiring activities to ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal laws, and preserve accurate employee records, including interview documents and I-9 forms. Support for payroll record processing and maintenance may also be required.
Further duties include preparing HR reports, answering calls, taking messages, drafting correspondence on a computer, serving as a subject matter resource for HR matters, contributing to project teams, and training new associates on HR processes, systems, policies, and programs. The role also requires maintaining a professional appearance, protecting confidential company information, communicating clearly and professionally, keeping positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and carrying out other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
Applicants should have a high school diploma or an equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate. At least 1 year of related work experience is required. Previous experience as a supervisor is not necessary, and no license or certification is needed.
Working conditions
This is a full-time, non-management role based in Kudai Road, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The job is marked as not remotely located, so it is expected to be performed onsite.
