About the Role
Player 15 Group, the organization behind the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Valley Suns, and Mortgage Matchup Center, is headquartered in downtown Phoenix and nurtures a culture centered on passion, creativity, innovation, and care. This fast-paced, team-oriented environment aims to deliver memorable experiences for fans, partners, and the community. We are searching for an enthusiastic and experienced Special Events Intern to join our team and contribute to the success of special events and department-wide projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with administrative event tasks including preparing materials, managing RSVPs, creating run-of-show documents, handling event budgets, and maintaining updated event records.
- Coordinate with various internal departments such as marketing, creative, and building operations to fulfill event-related requirements.
- Provide on-site support during events encompassing setup, teardown, and overseeing event progression to ensure smooth operation in line with plans.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external vendors to facilitate member and partner events, hospitality functions, and local activations.
- Deliver exceptional guest service by welcoming attendees and responding to their questions.
- Conduct regular local travel to support departmental needs, including vendor or client logistics.
- Engage in post-event assessments to collect feedback aimed at improving future events.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent organizational abilities with high attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Prior experience in event planning or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory; a strong eagerness to learn about the events industry is important.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends to align with event schedules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with event management tools is beneficial.
- A commitment to providing high-quality, guest-focused service is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to professionally engage with clients, vendors, and teammates.
- Educational requirement: High school diploma or GED; candidates must be current college juniors, seniors, or enrolled in a master's program.
- Preferred academic focus in hospitality, event management, or sports-related fields.
