Job Overview
This position is exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze. As a Special Agent at the FBI, you leverage your analytical and critical thinking skills to protect national security by investigating violent crimes, cyber threats, terrorism, and fraud. Your education and teaching background equips you with a unique perspective on interpreting complex data, identifying patterns, and supporting investigations.
Responsibilities
- Lead investigations of possible federal law violations pertaining to cybersecurity and public safety.
- Apply sound judgment and flexibility to meet the diverse demands of investigations.
- Build and sustain cooperative relationships with law enforcement agencies at federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international levels.
- Maintain required physical fitness standards to fulfill law enforcement responsibilities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must hold U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to obtain Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance is mandatory.
- Willingness to travel as job demands require.
- Must fulfill the FBI’s employment eligibility conditions.
Education
Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree or higher, ideally in education or an associated field, from an accredited U.S. college or university. Submission of college transcripts is required for degree verification.
Compensation
Salary range for this role is $93,749 to $133,200 annually. Compensation varies by base pay, locality pay, and availability pay.
