Job description

Position Overview

This role invites cybersecurity professionals to transition into a Special Agent position within the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), providing an opportunity to enhance technical skills and apply them in high-impact national security investigations. The position is currently not affected by the federal civilian hiring freeze.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute investigations concerning breaches of federal statutes, threats in cybersecurity, and matters affecting public safety.
  • Apply sound judgment, adaptability, and resourcefulness to efficiently manage investigative challenges.
  • Build and sustain cooperative relationships with law enforcement agencies at all governmental levels including tribal and international partners.
  • Maintain the required physical fitness standards essential for law enforcement tasks.

Compensation

The salary range is $93,749 to $133,200 per year, adjusted according to base pay, locality, and availability pay factors.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to secure Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to fulfill duties.
  • Fulfillment of the FBI’s employment eligibility criteria.
  • A bachelor's degree or higher from a U.S. accredited institution, ideally in fields like computer science, engineering, data science, information technology, or related areas.
