Overview

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) seeks candidates with backgrounds in cybersecurity and technology to transition into the role of Special Agent. In this position, you will apply your analytical, data interpretation, and problem-solving skills to address national security and public safety threats such as cyberattacks, terrorism, and fraud. Your role involves investigating complex scenarios and adapting to evolving challenges while contributing to federal law enforcement efforts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into alleged violations of federal laws, with an emphasis on cybersecurity and public safety issues.
  • Employ sound judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative needs and navigate complex cases.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with law enforcement entities at federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international levels.
  • Maintain physical fitness standards to ensure readiness for law enforcement duties.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel as required by the position.
  • Fulfillment of all FBI Employment Eligibility criteria.
  • A bachelor's degree or higher from a U.S. accredited institution, preferably in computer science, engineering, data science, information technology, or related fields.

Degree accreditation must be validated by submitting official college transcripts. Veterans and disabled veterans may provide additional documentation as outlined in the application.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is from $93,749 to $133,200 annually. Actual pay will depend on the base salary, locality adjustments, and availability pay.
