Job Overview

This opportunity is exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze. As an FBI special agent, your role is critically shaped by your analytical mindset and decisive actions impacting national security. This position leverages your cybersecurity and technology expertise to investigate violent crimes and protect the public against cyber threats, terrorism, fraud, and other evolving dangers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute investigations regarding violations of federal law with a focus on cybersecurity and public safety.
  • Apply sound judgment, creativity, and adaptability to meet diverse investigative challenges.
  • Develop and sustain effective collaborations with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement partners.
  • Maintain physical fitness standards to ensure readiness for law enforcement duties.

Role Requirements

  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Must satisfy the FBI’s employment eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or higher from a U.S.-accredited institution is required, preferably in disciplines such as computer science, engineering, data science, information technology, or related fields. All educational degrees must be supported by official college transcripts.

Compensation

Salary ranges from $93,749 to $133,200, adjusted based on base pay, locality, and availability pay.
