Job description
About the Role
Mitre 10 has played a major role in New Zealand’s home improvement scene since 1974. The business is known for helping people enjoy the places they live, work, and spend time, with a strong focus on home improvement, gardening, and trade products. An opportunity is now open to join the Albany, Auckland Support Centre as a Spare Parts Specialist.
This position reports to the Quality and Service Lead and is centered on managing spare parts across the warehouse workflow. The role covers receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching spare parts for a range of products imported by Mitre 10. A key part of the job is keeping the warehouse orderly, clean, and safe, while also maintaining accurate and current inventory records in the warehouse management system for use in the internal Spare Parts Portal.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep the warehouse neat, organized, and safe at all times.
- Check incoming spare parts deliveries, confirm quantities and condition, and flag any damage, shortages, or mismatches to the Quality and Service Lead.
- Organize, tag, and place spare parts in the correct storage locations using the InFlow Warehouse Management System and warehouse equipment.
- Prepare, pack, and dispatch spare parts orders for collection or delivery in line with customer needs and quality expectations.
- Unload and load spare parts from trucks, vans, or other vehicles using pallet jacks, a forklift, or manual handling, with an expectation of lifting up to 25 kg.
- Carry out regular stock checks and stocktakes, then update inventory records accurately.
- Spot stock-related issues such as low quantities, surplus items, or obsolete parts, and recommend actions to the Quality and Service Lead.
- As required, assemble products for sample checking.
Background and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a high school certificate or an equivalent qualification, along with prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or spare parts setting. Practical knowledge of spare parts, stock control, warehouse processes, and reading schematics will be important. You should also be comfortable working with barcode scanners and inventory management systems.
The role requires the ability to safely handle heavy and bulky items, strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a consistent focus on quality. Good communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities are also essential.
What the Role Offers
This position is based on Auckland’s North Shore and offers the chance to work in a positive, fast-moving environment that is both engaging and rewarding. The team is described as motivated and skilled, and the role comes with an attractive remuneration package, generous staff purchasing benefits, life and trauma insurance, discounted medical insurance, a birthday day off, flexible or hybrid working, and additional benefits.
Application Notes
Applicants are asked to submit a CV together with salary expectations. A conscientious and highly motivated person who wants to contribute to the Mitre 10 team is encouraged to apply.
