Job description
Role Overview
This position focuses on executing the space planning strategy across retail locations, covering both macro-level store layout planning and micro-level planogram development. The role supports financial goals by improving space productivity, maintaining merchandising standards, and coordinating closely with internal partners across commercial, supply chain, store design, visual merchandising, and operations teams for stores in KSA and UAE.
The incumbent also contributes to inventory budget control and optimization initiatives, while supporting revenue growth through coordination with the contract team to reflect contractual commitments.
Macro Space Planning
- Design and maintain store layouts and space planning solutions that improve space efficiency and strengthen the customer journey.
- Keep space planning records, layout files, fixture details, and planning tools accurate and up to date.
- Build, revise, and roll out store layouts and category maps in line with approved merchandising standards and commercial direction.
- Support new store launches, store refurbishments, and special initiatives by preparing layout recommendations and approved plans.
- Review store, category, and space performance data to find opportunities for better space use and stronger retail returns.
- Check implementation quality through site visits, audits, and coordination with key stakeholders.
- Serve as the go-to expert for queries and recommendations related to store space planning.
- Handle planning and allocation of secondary display zones such as endcaps, floor stands, and promotional setups while balancing customer flow and business targets.
- Update layouts and category maps whenever assortments change, new items are introduced, products are discontinued, categories expand, or promotions are introduced.
Micro Space Planning
- Develop, refine, and optimize planograms and display guidelines to support sales growth, profitability, and an improved in-store experience.
- Prepare category-level and store-specific merchandising plans that align with business priorities and commercial strategy.
- Create supporting guides, documentation, and implementation manuals for store and operations teams.
- Work with category and merchandising teams to decide product placement, facings, brand sequencing, and space allocation.
- Share planogram and display updates with relevant teams and help drive implementation.
- Support new store openings by supplying planograms and display recommendations.
- Carry out regular reviews and audits to confirm planogram adherence and effectiveness.
- Revise planograms whenever assortments shift, new products arrive, products are removed, categories grow, or promotional activity changes.
Assortment Planning and Optimization
- Suggest minimum display quantities to maintain shelf visibility and suitable inventory levels.
- Perform assortment gap analysis to support category and merchandise planning decisions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure commercial commitments and space utilization goals are executed effectively.
Work Environment
- Indoor work: 80%
- Outdoor work: 20%
- Working days: 5 days per week
- Weekly off: 2 days
- Working hours: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, including a 1-hour break
Requirements
- BSc degree is required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the retail sector is required.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite and AutoCAD is needed.
- Must be able to work in English and Arabic.
