Sourcing Specialist

About the Role

Production Equipment Europe is a major industrial distributor serving customers throughout Europe with more than 90,000 products. The company is looking to add a Sourcing Specialist to its Galway-based team.

This position works across managers and cross-functional teams to support cost reduction, strengthen supplier relationships, and uncover new business opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead sourcing activities and support global procurement for products.
• Discuss and agree on pricing, agreements, contracts, and delivery timelines with suppliers.
• Spot opportunities to lower sourcing spend, expand the product range, and add value for customers.
• Carry out regular market reviews and spend analysis to improve savings and supplier performance.
• Build and maintain productive supplier partnerships that deliver quality and cost-efficient solutions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop business and grow opportunities.
• Handle tender enquiries and manage contract negotiations.
• Contribute as part of an energetic, experienced team focused on company objectives.

Skills & Experience

• A qualification or comparable industry experience is required; experience in supply chain or sourcing is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in assessing, selecting, and negotiating with suppliers.
• Strong planning and administrative capabilities.
• Comfortable understanding technical product information.
• Strong negotiation and sound decision-making skills.
• Competent with computers, especially MS Office; SAP ERP knowledge is an advantage.
• Practical, adaptable, and able to think with a strategic mindset.
• Capable of staying effective in a busy, high-pressure environment.
• Works well within a team.
• Can meet deadlines and work to agreed timelines.
